NYCDOT FDR Drive Northbound Bridge Rehabilitation
The goal of the project was to rehabilitate the northbound FDR Drive Bridge segment between East 42nd Street and East 49th Street over the East River Shore to restore structural integrity, improve safety, enhance durability and resilience in a harsh marine environment, and extend the service life of this critical Manhattan waterfront transportation corridor.
The rehabilitation scope included the replacement and/or demolition of existing superstructure elements, the replacement and relocation of public and private utilities, and the correction of existing structural deficiencies while minimizing impacts to traffic operations and adjacent infrastructure. TCT provided conceptual cost estimates for six rehabilitation alternatives and cost updates to the preliminary design concepts developed for the project.
