PANYNJ PATH Grove Street Nine-Car Service Platform Expansion

Jersey City, NJ

The Port Authority Board of Commissioners began allowing PATH station facilities and platforms to accommodate longer nine-car trains. The PATH Improvement Plan addressed the increasing demand for enhanced PATH services and additional capacity. The 111-year-old system has experienced record-breaking ridership, with over 285,000 daily passengers on average this year, and ridership surpassing 300,000 on multiple weekdays recently. The plan focuses on increasing capacity, reducing delays, and improving the customer experience through various initiatives.

TCT provided cost estimating and baseline scheduling services for the modernization and expansion of the platform to accommodate nine-car train. These improvements help PATH increase safety and capacity, creating a more efficient way of traveling for New York and New Jersey commuters.
