Georgetown University Lauinger Library Renovation + Pierce Reading Room

Washington, DC

Georgetown University’s Joseph Mark Lauinger Library is the University’s main library, housing approximately 1.7 million volumes across six floors. The project is focused on reimagining the library as an open, modern, flexible, and highly functional environment that supports energy, engagement, and inspiration.

The project scope includes the Pierce Reading Room renovation, planning and design for the broader Lauinger Library, Southeast Campus Planning, and renovation of the library’s Technical Services area.

TCT provided cost estimating services for the Pierce Reading Room from schematic design through bid set, including hard and soft costs, interior finishes, equipment, and furniture. TCT also prepared ROM estimates for three concept design options for the Lauinger Library replacement study, including sitework, utilities, and hard and soft costs.

Additional services included cost estimates for the Technical Services area at the schematic design and construction documents phases, as well as construction administration support for the Pierce Reading Room.
