GSA Benjamin P. Grogan & Jerry L. Dove Federal Building Design-Build
Miramar, FL
TCT prepared construction cost estimates in Uniformat for the design of the new, highly sustainable Federal Office Building that will consolidate the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) operations across South Florida and provide a superior workplace for agents.
The H-shaped building, which sits on over 20 acres of restored Florida Everglades wetlands, accommodates nearly 1,000 FBI employees in a centralized, collaborative and secure workspace, reduces water and energy consumption, and preserves a natural habitat. The project was designed under GSA’s Design Excellence Program and was built to LEED Platinum and Net-Zero ready standards by reducing its environmental impact through a number of sustainable measures, including: 95% reduction in water consumption through rainwater, well-water, and municipal reclaimed water capture, a high-performance, glass curtain facade that harvests daylight, reduces heat gain and can withstand blast and hurricane impacts, rooftop solar panels on the parking 535-space garage generating nearly 20% of the building’s energy usage, and Wetlands restoration.
